Bertrand Michel & Nicolas ( Francorchamps ) 1st National Narbonne 5.000 old birds ( fastest of 11.100 birds )

For the 2nd time in 3 years we can drive to Francorchamps to visit the national winner of Narbonne old pigeons, the father and son combination Bertrand Michel & Nicolas now win against 5,000 old pigeons and have the fastest pigeon for Belgium against 11,100 pigeons in total. In 2021 they won 1-7-9 National Narbonne against 5,805 old pigeons and in 2020 they won 1st International Narbonne against 6,837 hens and also won 2nd International against 12,848 pigeons in total among the old birds. Narbonne is the favorite race of the season for them with 3x gold in 4 years time.

System

The system is still the same as in 2021, a racing team is raced here on total widowhood. There were 25 couples at the beginning of the season, of which the old pigeons were allowed to breed for 8 to 10 days in February, while the yearlings were still resting in the aviary. Afterwards, the yearlings were added to the lofts, but they were no longer coupled.

The pigeons train here once a day, at 5 pm sharp the widowers go outside and one hour later it is the turn of the hens.

In the run-up to Narbonne, they flew several speed races, Melun, 3x Nevers and La Chatre, which were organized with AWC. Then they were coupled so that they were brooding in a position of 5 to 8 days maximum when they were basketed.

In terms of health, the bone-dry lofts are ideal so that the pigeons need little medication. The pigeons were given a cure against tricho 5 to 6 days before the season and 3 weeks before Narbonne I repeated that for another 2 days so as not to take any risks.

The food that is given here are the Hoebrechts mixtures and they are mixed with breeding and sport all season long and they are always given enough food. Only at the beginning of the week, some super diet is added to prevent them from getting too fat on the shorter flights.
