Christiaan Van Weyenberghe ( Tessenderlo ) takes his 1st provincial victory over Issoudun

The new colony of Christiaan Van Weyenberghe in Tessenderlo, Limburg, will start with yearling hens for the first time. Only with hens

For the time being he plays with 1 box of hens, I have to get the hang of the system and see how everything works. The racing team was allowed to breed before the season and even a few incubators up to 2 weeks before the season. Then everything went wild and widowhood could start. In the winter period the pigeons did not have any rest after the moult and training was immediately started again, not every day but on a regular basis. Now throughout the season they usually train once a day in the morning, sometimes it can be twice but usually not. During the day the hens stay in an open aviary that is only closed on the roof. There are just PVC veranda plates on this, which are now covered with a wooden plywood plate when it is heated, otherwise it will get really hot below. The hens are fed in the hallway and are allowed to go to their resting loft in the evening.

Today's yearlings did not race nationally as a youngster, but did race middle distance several times. We'll build up here slowly and see how far they get. The intention is to have a nice team of hens every year.

In terms of nutrition, he gives confidence to the Aidi mixtures. He uses Vliegmix 1 at the beginning of the week and is fed with Vliegmix 2 and 3. The racing hens also receive Power Girl at the beginning of the week if the flights follow each other quickly. The medical supervision here is supervised by Raf Herbots from Velm. As additional products, we mainly work with Herbobeets, Tolyaminn Forte from Schroeder Tollisan and Aidi products. But throughout the year there is a lot of garlic, so there are few problems with tricho.
