Erik Limbourg from Brussegem shines with 1 Nat (z) Argenton 2,644 yearlings and 1 Nat (z) Cahors 1,149 old birds

The national races got off to a good start for Erik Limbourg from Brussegem, Argenton, Limoges and Cahors were all good. From Argenton he won with his best yearling “De Geeloger” 1st Provincial and 1st Nat (z) against 2,104 and 2,644 pigeons. He only entered 3 hens from Valence and won 4th and 14th Provincial against 825 pigeons. The cocks were completely present on Cahors and he put down a fantastic series with 1,2,6,7,9,26,36,42,… against 466 old provincial and this in difficult circumstances. The series is set and we are sure that they will show great things in the coming weeks because once Erik has them on track, there is no stopping…
Widowers
The widowers are raced here in the traditional way of classic widowhood. They only hatch on eggs in the winter and, if the weather is good, they are coupled for another 5 days during the training flights in March. During the spring there is a lot of training and especially in April the pace is high, now as the flights get further and further the hard training goes down a bit. But they still come out twice a day.
For the time being, no hen is shown separately to each widower during basketing, but this will be the case as the season progresses. Now Erik tries to throw one hen into the loft as motivation for them all. When they return home, they can initially stay together for 2 to 3 hours and this is then extended during the national races until the evening. In races such as Cahors, the hens stay there until the following morning.
The pigeons have little rest between races, only the cocks from Limoges got a rest until Cahors, while the hens flew Limoges and Valence. These then flew Vierzon again last week.
In terms of nutrition, Erik mixes different mixtures of Aidi and Beyers and Aidi Long Distance is an important meal in the build-up to the tough races. He uses an individual pill against tricho 3 days before basketing for the long distance and then repeats this every 3 weeks. Yellow drops are therefore not used here.
