Geerinckx Bart & Jurgen (Wommelgem) win 1st Provincial Bergerac Antwerp Old Birds

03 Aug 2024

Wommelgem - Geerinckx Bart & Jurgen again showed their class during the national flight from Bergerac. Their pigeon "Hercules" took the provincial victory against 336 old birds. Nationally, "Hercules" finished in 106th place against 3,157 old birds.

Hercules

The blue cock with ring number BE22-6027129, nicknamed "Hercules", is no stranger to pigeon racing. He is currently ranked as 3rd best old pigeon long distance in Belgium over five flights on the KBDB ranking. His impressive performances include:
1st Prov. Bergerac against 336 birds
11th Nat.Z Souillac against 1,129 birds
17th Prov. Tulle against 617 birds
18th Nat.Z Brive against 1,130 birds
158th Nat.Z Tulle against 2,033 birds

Bart describes "Hercules" as a strong pigeon, which justifies his name. "Hercules" has flown five long-distance races within a month and finished in the top 17 provincially in Antwerp four times.

Pedigree

A closer look at Hercules' pedigree confirms his status as a top pigeon at provincial, zonal and national levels. His achievements are mirrored by those of his parents.

The sire is "Brother Little Star" (BE16-6033650), a full brother of "Little Star", 1st Nat. acebird GHF KBDB in 2015, descended from the pair "Blue Lagoon" x "Iron Lady". This line has already produced many top pigeons.
The mother is "Lady Agen", winner of 1st Nat. Agen against 4,664 pigeons for Vergaerde-Denolf.

The pair "Brother Little Star" x "Lady Agen" has proven to be a successful breeding pair, with winners such as:
1st Nat. Zone Aurillac against 1,962 pigeons
1st Prov. Bergerac against 336 pigeons
14th Nat. Argenton against 21,282 pigeons
74th Nat. Agen against 6,657 pigeons

Conclusion

Bart and Jurgen Geerinckx have once again shown with their pigeon "Hercules" that they know what they are doing. The victory on the national flight from Bergerac confirms their talent and the quality of their pigeons. Hercules has already achieved an impressive series of performances and his strong pedigree does the rest. This shows that the Geerinckx loft is not only good at flying, but also at breeding top pigeons. With "Hercules" in their loft, the future only seems to promise more success.

Bart & Jurgen, congratulations from the whole Herbots team!
