Gwen van de Merwe wins 3rd and 4th national Issoudun against 26,753 birds

Last weekend the national flight Issoudun was on the Dutch racing programme. A total of 26,753 pigeons participated and they were released at 7.15 am with a moderate south-west wind. 

Winner of the national competition was J.J. Eskes from Streefkerk, but a remarkable achievement was for Peter van de Merwe's daughter Gwen. Together with her grandfather they had 46 pigeons in competition and at 13h14 two came flying in at the same time. Good for an average speed of 1,596m/m which resulted in the 3rd and 4th prize national !
