Impressive 1st half of the season for Van Hove-Uytterhoeven (Putte) World results on Bourges national level - 1st and 2nd Prov. Tulle - 1st and 2nd Nat.

Putte: Loft Van Hove-Uytterhoeven is one of those Belgian colonies that apparently never know a lesser season. It is really a feast for the eye to analyse the performances of the last decades. Victories on all levels...you just don't get used to it in the Van Hove-Uytterhoeven house.
This year, Geert and Peggy are a bit "on their own" because they no longer have any help with the care. "That's why this season we focused more on the game with the hens", Geert starts his story "not that we don't play cocks but the full attention goes to the hens.
Geert and Peggy paired their hens for the first time only at the beginning of April and after about 5 days of being together, the sexes were already separated.
"The first 4 weeks of the season, the hens were kept as calm as possible. This means that the hens were picked from the loft when they were basketed and that they only saw their cock when they came home. Once the national races were on the programme, my husband came to say "goodbye" about one hour before basketing.
The first national race was Bourges and maybe I made the best result since years. When I look at it, the hairs on my arms still stand up. I had 55 pigeons in total and no less than 32 of them put their ring number in the first 10% on the national result.

Bourges 33.410 oude: 29-216-224-386-394-709-815-1071-1268-1362-1548-1572-1628-1630-2006-2103-2249-2719-2724-2773-3073-3073 (34 basketed)
Bourges 24,221 yearlings: 65-85-89-227-232-254-347-432-627-654-684-721 (24 basketed)

When you see this as a fancier, you know that their condition is more than fine and they have shown this the last few weeks on the long distance races, which we aspire more and more, according to our modest opinion.

Geert continues: "What makes us happy is that our pigeons put up a serious fight, because both at Tulle and at Brive we certainly did not have the advantage in terms of wind, and yet our "old line" crossed with the Vervloesem pigeons did more than their best."

Geert and Peggy...congratulations and keep up the good work.
