Rudy Denies from Sint-Joris-Weert has a new super crack in his loft with “De Wilfried”.

During last season we visited Patrick Draye and Rudy Denies in Sint Joris Weert in Brabant. Rudy plays here in the parental lofts of Patrick Draye's father, where real top results have always been achieved since I have known this colony. So we visited them last year because of 2 Semi-National winners from Nevers and La Chatre. The winner at Nevers was “Wilfried” who in 2024 won no fewer than 5 x 1st local races in the long distance and last year also flew a 1st local prize from Aurillac. A real super crack in the long distance, the likes of which few have.
“Wilfried” his father is a half-brother of “Festina” who was the founder of this new top colony with 6th and 8th National Ace Pigeon Middle Distance KBDB in 2019 and 2020. Then came “Rolex” 1st National Ace Pigeon middle distance KBDB and this super crack “Wilfried”. In between they also had “Gueretje”, a hen that won 1st S.Prov.Gueret but won a total of 9 pure first prizes and 10 x per 100 -tal flew. She also became 1st Provincial Ace Pigeon longer middle distance yearlings KBDB 2022.
The common thread throughout this colony is a family of winners and ace pigeons that rarely miss. He is mainly assisted here by the Erik Limbourg breed of which 75% of the colony consists, supplemented with half a round from Guido Van Caneghem in 2017 and pigeons from Geert De Clercq, Jan Mees, Hazaert Gerry, Vermeerbergen – Wilms and Deneys Dimitri. The latest acquisitions come from Willem De Bruijn, where this contribution has already been very successful with both Erik Limbourg and Patrick himself, partly thanks to the famous "Geeloger", 1st National Ace Pigeon All Round KBDB 2023. There are only 5 old widowers in this racing team, Patrick does not like a large racing team and is always very strict in terms of selection. They have to fly early and show up regularly or there won't be room for you here. The 5 old cocks flew a Momignies at the beginning of the season, usually this is seen as training, but all 5 of them placed nicely at the front with one real leading pigeon. They have to show from the start that they are okay, otherwise we feel they will not compete at further distances in the long distance.

Every special pigeon has a special story. “Rolex” was not a good student in the beginning, during the first training flights he always came home last and he continued this trend until the first real flights. It wasn't until the end of April that he had his sights in the right direction and won 1st from Momignies against 288 pigeons. Afterwards he left and flew straight to the national ace pigeon title. Sometimes you have to be patient and because he was such a beautiful cock he got his chance.
