Rudy Denies from Sint-Joris-Weert wins 1st Provincial Bourges 1,115 old with superstar “Dreamliner”

During last season we visited Patrick Draye and Rudy Denies in Sint Joris Weert in Brabant. Rudy plays here in the parental lofts of Patrick Draye's father, where real top results have always been achieved since I have known this colony. So we visited them last year because of 2 Semi-National winners from Nevers and La Chatre. The winner at Nevers was “Wilfried” who in 2024 won no less than 3 x 1st local prizes in the long distance and last year he also flew a 1st local prize at Aurillac. The winner from La Chatre was “Dreamliner”, this 2 year old widower also has an exceptional list of achievements and won 1st Provincial Bourges against 1,115 old pigeons last weekend.
The plan was not to go to Bourges, but Bergerac was going to be a very tough one and Patrick and Rudy also wanted to play Tulle next weekend with the same pigeons. So either they went for a tough Bergerac and then Tulle or it was Bourges as a shorter flight because these cocks usually fly the long distance and then Tulle to end the season. That's how it happened and 2 pigeons came home straight away, “Dreamliner” together with his younger brother who is now good for 3rd Provincial Bourges against 1,627 yearlings and 17th National of 9,654 yearlings.
Best results 2024
There are only 5 old widowers in this racing team, Patrick does not like a large racing team and is always very strict in terms of selection. They have to fly early and show up regularly or there won't be room for you here. The 5 old cocks flew a Momignies at the beginning of the season, usually this is seen as training, but all 5 of them placed nicely at the front with one real leading pigeon. They have to show from the start that they are okay, otherwise we feel they will not compete at further distances in the long distance.

Both with cocks and hens, but in classic widowhood
Here they race with a racing team consisting of cocks and hens, but both groups have partners who stay at home. In the spring the pigeons trained very well, which showed that their condition was ok. The training will be increased to twice a day from mid-May. Only on the day of basketing do the widowers train in the morning and the hens do not. Now at the end of the season the decision is made to let the pigeons fly home less, now rest can do more good than bad because the pigeons have enough kilometers in their wings.
During basketing the partners are always shown, the cocks get their hens for a few minutes and the hens get their cocks for 15 to 20 minutes. After the flight they can be at home with their partners when most of the pigeons are, here the widowers' hens leave in the evening and the cocks of the hens always stay with them at night and separate on Sunday morning.
In terms of nutrition, the pigeons are initially given a light mixture of Beyers Vandenabeele (even if they have one week of rest, they are given this for a full week). They are raised with Aidi Long Distance and when they return home they are given Beyers Vandenabeele. The next day we use the Detox mixture to clean the pigeons again.
What we give as extra products during the week are Recupfly and Hepasan from Probelfly. Furthermore, several products from Schroeder Tollisan are given, including Tolyamin Forte and Nano Tolyamin. The pigeons are given a pill against tricho every 14 days, especially this season because they usually spend extra nights in the basket and the risk of infection is greater. They were treated twice this season for the respiratory tract, the first time for Tulle in June and now the week before Bourges. The day after returning home, they are given Probac 1000 in the food together with Herbochol or Hepasan.
