Belgische Verstandhouding honours its champions in style

It was another full house in the Salons Cortina is Wevelgem, where on Sunday 10 December the Belgian Relief Society celebrated its annual high point of the past season. With as many as 370 people in attendance, this organisation is "alive and kicking" after some difficult years resulting from the corona pandemic. The hall was packed and those present were very nicely settled within their circle of friends and acquaintances and their fellow players from their club, region. International interest in this event remains strong. France, Germany, Luxembourg, England, the Netherlands...all were represented at this beautiful gathering of a lot of beautiful people from pigeon circles. Winning these rankings or being classified is still a resounding proof of talent, class, commitment and a big heart for pigeon racing. Over the years, the laureates in the rankings are all true top players who put their heart and soul into their beloved hobby. Chairman Filip Norman, in his well-known straightforward style and with a big heart for pigeon sport and the beautiful tradition his late father created with other icons, welcomed all present. The common thread in his speech was concern for the quality of organising a competition with the welfare of the pigeon at the forefront. Deemphatically, he did not avoid the release of St Vincent and committed himself to trying to prevent such occurrences that are sometimes very difficult to foresee, anyway
His words were encouraging and motivating for the entirety of organisations and players. What the staff of Salons Cortina served was, as usual, top-notch. Generously filled buffets, smooth table service and in between, in a smooth direction, the honouring of all winners, led to a tasty, pleasant and enjoyable afternoon. A feast for those present and for pigeon racing. Such events, which are the finale of a season of hard work and dedication, are the toppings of mayonnaise that "finish" a dish and ensure that we still look forward to the coming season with great hope ! To the organisation and all laureates, congratulations from the Herbots team !
