Hermans – Bonne from Loksbergen win 1st Provincial Gien 2,506 yearlings

2022 has already started well for the Hermans – Bonne tandem, a new provincial victory on the counter. This time from Gien in the yearlings, a grandson of their stock sire Hollander takes care of the new victory here. A sporting revenge after the theft of their ancestor last fall is in order here.

Only with widowers

They started here with 36 widowers on classic widowhood, they were coupled at the beginning of January and were allowed to raise their own youngsters. After that, there is no more 2nd coupling.

The training is started after the breeding period, in the beginning this is 1x in the evening, but from May Wim & Roger then switch to 2x a day. The widowers were also darkened from the beginning of March to the beginning of May, everything in function of the important races or middle distance and extreme middle distance.

When basketing, a hen is always shown for half an hour and they are locked up in their box. All kinds of flights are raced in the loft itself, on Thursday 2 or 3 flights and on Friday a few pigeons for the speed, but this has no influence on the performance. When they come home they stay together for an hour in the beginning, the speed of course a little longer because they have to wait for the pigeons from the further flights. Afterwards, this is several hours as the season progresses.

Care

In terms of food, the mixtures of Anthoons and Versele – Laga are used here. In the preparation (March) it is mainly Super Recup Anthoons that they receive. Now in the season they feed on Sport Subliem Versele – Laga towards basketing. As extras they get peanuts and P40 grain. The widowers are each fed individually because different races are played.The additional products given are Conditioning powder and CMB from Herbovet, Hexenbier, Atemfrei, Jungtierpulver, BT-Amin Forte from Röhnfried.The medical supervision here is supervised by Raf Herbots, they were given a 4-day cure for tricho before the racing season and 4 days against the head last week when basketing Gien.
