Jos Das from Lummen will have his best season of his career in 2022

For Jos Das from Lummen in Limburg, the 2022 season could not go wrong, when you win 6 provincial victories at the age of 75 you can speak of a super season. The best ever says Jos and I will never experience that again.

The season was very tough with a lot of head wind and warm conditions, the races Jos prefers his pigeons. From Gueret, a distance of 590 km, both pigeons landed on the shelf at a speed of 1160 m/min.

For Jos, his career started a long time ago, a pigeon fancier with a lot of passion, who put his nose to the window for the first time in 2004. Then he won the classic with the youngsters from Bourges National with his white cock “Thorpe”. He won 1st National Bourges 48,000 youngsters and fastest of 68,000 pigeons in total. A national victory was added in 2014 on Tours with his top hen "Brenda" who won 1st National Tours against 3,947 old birds.

Between the period of 2004 and 2014, every year there was an extra provincial victory or somewhere an outlier on a hard flight.

In the spring of 2022 the counter stood at 23 pieces, now a few months later it is 29 pieces. In a few weeks time he manages to win 6 provincial victories and we are not even talking about the closed places of honor. This was a continuation of the 2021 season, which also included 1st Provincial Chateauroux 1,135 yearlings ( 52nd National 10,316p ), 6th National Chateauroux 2,396 old birds, 9th Provincial Orléans 1,211 young birds, 12th National Argenton 23,124 young birds, 12th National Bourges 8,410 old birds, … and 15th National Ace Pigeon All Round KBDB youngsters was won. But 2021 was the follow-up to 2020 when his 2 old hens “Chateaurouxke 156” and “Sproetje” flew off the roof with several TOP 100 National quotations.

We can actually just keep going and going… But after the 2022 season, Jos made the decision to put his old and yearling racing team up for auction. The breeding team and the youngsters from 2022 will be kept and with a breath of fresh air Jos will still be eager to add a few more years.

THE SUPER RACING TEAM OF 2022 – 6 X 1ST PROVINCIAL

Fortunately, not a single top pigeon has been lost in recent seasons and that all these great pigeons are present in the auction that will start today at 2:00 PM.

Here we introduce a few top pigeons that are all present in this auction.

Family of pigeons 

We have poured the stock of pigeons that Jos has made in his breeding loft into a pedigree so that you can see what a close family this is becoming.

The stock couple is “BE 03-5109147” Blauwe which won 6 x 1st crossed with 2 hens, either BE 03-5131541 1st Provincial Argenton or BE 06-5037914 Blauw via Johny Janssens and has the line of the “Phenomenal” 1st Nat Ace pigeon half long distance KBDB 2002 in her. “147/03” bred several toppers with both hens and this is the only real stock couple of the colony.

Afterwards it was mainly the line of “Tom” (via Carmin Baldassarre) that hit the bull's eye, this line is mainly the line of “Pantani” from Guido Loockx who also won 1st National Bourges. The one and only super breeder "Tom 231" already became father of 1st National Tours in 2014, but afterwards still father and grandfather of several super pigeons. This line was mainly crossed with pigeons from Verreckt – Ariën (the Moluka and Camila line are an important basis for various top pigeons here).

It is also important to congratulate Jos and Sonja with these top results and that thanks to wife Sonja the administration would not be as great if Jos had to do it alone.
