Vandenheede Freddy & Jacques (Zingem) - 1-2-3-4 National Chateauroux 15,060 young birds
14 Sep 2024
The last race of the season in terms of national flights was Chateauroux. Another 15,060 young pigeons came to the start and we got a very exceptional result. The Vandenheede Brothers (Freddy & Jacques) have the 4 fastest pigeons here of all the pigeons in total and clocked their 2 first pigeons in the same second, giving us 2 winners.
They brought a total of 270 pigeons and upon arrival, 230 of them were already home. They dominate this entire result, just as they have done in several long distance races this season.
Chateauroux National 15,060 youngsters: 1,1,3,4,6,6,9,14,32,47,59,75,112,133,142,130,188,… 117/270.
This was their first national race for the young pigeons and they had to put on the brakes a bit here in Zingem. But in recent weeks the youngsters have been in full force and last week they completely dominated the provincial flight from Montoire here. With the exception of 3 young pigeons that were also on the previous flight from Argenton, all the rest were complete newcomers.
In addition, they have had a super season and are simply among the very best in our pigeon country.

Young pigeons
The young pigeons are lagging behind us because we mainly focus on our old and yearling racing team and we are fully engaged in this during the moment of truth in July. As a result, we will have them trained and you will be behind the times for an entire season.
In the past I might have minded that, but this year I noticed that our yearlings without any national experience can also perform in the long distance races, so why should we have to let our young pigeons fly multiple national flights.
If the weather is perfect, anything is possible, but you certainly couldn't predict that in the past and now. The youngsters just sit together without any motivation or they motivate each other without us knowing. But they can't tell us that.
