Versele-Laga celebrates its 90th anniversary with the acquisition of a new extruder

On Friday 28/04, we attended the 90th anniversary celebration of pigeon feed manufacturer Versele-Laga in Deinze. A big party deserves many guests and for that reason Versele-Laga spared no expense to thank the numerous customers both nationally and internationally and their staff members with a big party. An immense tent was set up atmospherically so that everyone felt "at home" and could enjoy drinks and food. In the evening, Versele-Laga treated its resellers with a unique party full of ambiance. But there was another reason to put on "the best suit". As everyone knows, Versele-Laga is not only No. 1 worldwide in pigeon feed but also has a very large share in the dog, cat, bird, horse and small animal feed market. Versele-Laga's strength is that they have the knowledge and production facilities to develop food specifically for certain animal species. Thanks to, among other things, the addition of extruded pellets to grain mixtures or even the production of complete extruded feeds, they can meet all the needs of every animal. An unprecedented asset recently reinforced by the purchase of a 2nd extruder. A new building no less than 32 metres high was built for this purpose. 

Together with other press people from various sectors, the Herbots team had the opportunity to get to know the entire production process via a guided tour of the enormous Versele-Laga factory halls. More than impressive! After the tour, the press, together with sponsored pigeon fanciers and sponsored projects from other sectors, were given a view of the past and future of this pet food giant by Mrs Lanckman Sarah and CEO Mr Boone Frederic. 

The Herbots team thanks Versele-Laga for the invitation and wishes them continued commercial success because as CEO Mr Boone said "the future looks bright".
