Everaert Frederik - Aarsele: 1st National Bergerac 3,157 old birds - fastest of 6,337b.

With Bergerac, a "solid" long distance race was completed last weekend. During the release, the wind was calm and then changed to a light northeast wind and from Northern France to a very light west wind. In terms of wind more than doable but combine this with temperatures flirting with 30 degrees then we are talking about different and heavier flying conditions. Winners on such races are pigeons in top condition, there is no doubt about that. Pigeons that have the class to give their best for more than 10 hours. Winner of the old category and also the fastest of all 6,337 Bergerac racers was the magnificent cock "Rasputin" (B21-3119320) of fancier Frederick Everaert from Aarsele. It is already his 2nd national victory for Frederick. He used to play with the pigeons in Zwijnaarde, and there he won Brive national in 2016. Unforgettable moments

Super motivated

Not going for the middle ground, but going to win, going for excellence. That's a brief summary of a conversation with Frederik Everaert. The least you can say of him is that he lets things run their course. Together with his wife Anja, he ran a very successful butcher's shop in Zwijnaarde for 20 years. And 20 years of hard work from morning to night requires a lot of energy....and health is the highest good.  This made Anja and Frederik decide in 2017 to slow down a bit.  Stopping the butcher's shop was also the ideal time to return to their roots in Aarsele.

The parental home of Frederik was bought and has been completely renovated Wife Anja also carries the pigeon sport in a very warm heart and it is thanks to her efforts that the current top results are achieved. In the beautiful rural garden a beautiful loft accommodation was built. Spacious lofts, modernly equipped and stylishly fitting into the environment.  The majority of the stock pigeons have the origins of Etienne Lippens (Aarsele) and Antoine Van Landuyt (Vinkt) in their pedigrees. With pigeons from these toppers, Frederik forged himself a successful strain of pigeons in recent years. These were supplemented with some pigeons from Gaby Vandenabeele and Bourlard et Fils (Harveng). They are pigeons that are strong and tough and easily fly national top.

Winning a national is one thing, but winning a national with your best pigeon is just that slightly different feeling. It is a confirmation of what you suspect as a pigeon fancier. Just look at his already achieved results. If you ask us "pure class. What a pleasure it must be to own such a pigeon."
