Maarten Poels (Berbroek) wins 1st Prov. Vivonne (Poitiers) Limburg against 268 yearlings

Maarten Poels from Berbroek achieved a fine performance by winning the first provincial place in the province of Limburg with his hen "Vivonneke", ring number BE23-5011271, on the flight from Vivonne (Poitiers) against 268 yearlings.

"Vivonneke" only flew Momignies as a young pigeon and has already completed a strong series of flights this year: from once Sens (replacement for Gien) to the three national flights Bourges, Argenton and now Vivonne.

Vivonneke's pedigree is remarkable. On her father's side, she descends from the best bloodlines of Clerinx origin. Her sire is a full brother to "Elsa", Maartens 1st National Châteauroux winner against 6.377 yearlings in 2019. On the mother's side, she has 100% Erik Limbourg blood, with a combination of "Super Creone Roeper" (1st Nat. Ace pigeon KBDB L.D. YL) and a hen obtained from Erik, which has proved to be a super breeding hen and, among other things, has twice given a 1st provincial winner and is grandmother of a 1st national winner.

Although not many pigeons from the province of Limburg were basketed for this race, yet 49 different fanciers participated in the yearlings. This nevertheless emphasises that "Vivonneke" was the fastest of several different lofts. Finally, "Vivonneke" became the 3rd fastest pigeon of the whole province of Limburg, against 666 pigeons.On a national level, "Vivonneke" achieved the 74th place out of 10,574 yearlings, which is a particularly fine achievement given the lofts location in relation to the other early pigeons.
