Frans & Dirk Maris (Itegem) triumph at Tulle Provincial with 1st and 2nd place against 652 yearlings
27 Jun 2024
Itegem - Frans and Dirk Maris won first and second provincial prizes on the national flight from Tulle, where their yearlings proved to be the fastest in the province of Antwerp. They also managed to distinguish themselves nationally, with two pigeons in the top 100 against 13,654 old birds and yearlings.
BE23-6020319 "Tully"
"Tully", a checkered white flight hen, won the first provincial prize with a speed of 1247.47 metres per minute. Nationally, she achieved 5th place against 5,751 yearlings and 11th place against 13,654 old and yearlings.
"Tully" is a full sister to BE21-6036125 "Claudia", a top hen in Frans and Dirk's loft. "Claudia" has an impressive list of performances (see later in the article for a full list) to her name, including:
8th Olympiad pigeon Cat. D Maastricht 2024
15th National Bourges against 18,707 pigeons
54th National Issoudun against 12,349 pigeons
71st National Châteauroux against 5,720 pigeons
85th National Bourges against 20,796 pigeons
97th National Argenton against 18,763 pigeons
105th National La Souterraine against 6,761 pigeons
BE23-6020345
This pigeon achieved the second provincial prize with a speed of 1214.15 metres per minute and arrived about 14 minutes after "Tully". Nationally, this pigeon finished in 33rd place against 5,751 yearlings and in 90th place against 13,654 old and yearlings.Probably no coincidence that this pigeon bird achieved this performance because the same blood that flows in 2 of the mainstays of Frans and Dirk's loft, namely "Maxi" (1st Nat. Argenton '14 3,660d) and "Proxi" (1st Nat. Ace pigeon Argenton 2019-2020 (2 flights)), also flows in BE23-6020345.

G Poznan in 2019, 1st Olympiad Pigeon 2022 - Cat. C (2019-2020) and 8th Olympiad Pigeon Cat.
