OUR NEW HERBOTS BREEDINGBOOK 2024

Dear sports friends,
 

The first year of racing independently after saying goodbye to our dad Filip Herbots does something to a person. We wanted to do just as well, and if possible even better! We worked hard so that our 'father' would be proud of us. We can proudly say that we have succeeded! In 2023 we won the 1st National Ace Pigeon Long Distance Old Birds on 4 KBDB flights, but with very exceptional performances. The pigeon 2130124-21 wins 4 times in the TOP 9 National in a period of 1 month on races between 650 km and 800 km, a “unique” that we have never experienced before! As a tribute to Dad, he was called “The Flup”.

Not only “De Flup” did excellently, but we were able to be in the Top 10 no less than 8 times and in the Top 50 we were 29 times in the National KBDB races in 2023 (see page 70) and all this with descendants of the pigeons that we introduce in this breeding book.

Standing still means going backwards and that is why we continue to search for even better and faster pigeons! We have invested heavily in new pigeons such as the parents of Olympic Rico (White Man x New Niki). This couple is perhaps the best breeding couple in Belgium, their children won 1st National Ace Pigeon KBDB Sprint Young Pigeons 2020 (also 1st World Best Pigeon Speed) Olympic Rico (page 7) but in 2022 this couple again gave a National Ace Pigeon, 4th National Ace Pigeon KBDB Sprint Young Pigeons and in 2023 again 5th National Ace Pigeon KBDB Sprint Young Pigeons… what an exceptional breeding couple! (page 4+5)

The National flight from Limoges was won by Team Hooymans WFL with a very exceptional and later much-discussed pigeon “De Wout”, which won 2 x 1st National and 8 x in the first 63 National. I quickly brought De Wout's first youngster to Halle Booienhoven and Jan let me select the most beautiful one, Jonge Wout (page 8).

Our employees also performed excellently in their own lofts: Björn Knaepen won the title of 1st World Best Pigeon Middle Distance in Belgium with his Crazy Fighter (page 13) and Viktor Knaepen won the 1st National Bourges young pigeons with his Chicou (page 14). 2023. Both winners have also moved to our breeding lofts.

In the Netherlands there was a beautiful pigeon called "Jonge Bertus" (page 15), 1st World Best Pigeon Netherlands speed and also 1st National Ace Pigeon speed 2023, this pigeon was also brought to our champion breeding loft. In Portugal we noticed RUBY (page 11), a pigeon with 7 x 1st prizes and 1st World Best Pigeon with an exceptionally good pedigree…
